Is Limelight Talent an agency?

No, Limelight Talent is not an agency. Limelight is a job and talent platform for members to list and find opportunities within the entertainment industry.

Can anyone register to the Limelight Talent platform?

Limelight operate on the basis of providing a platform to anyone who is over the age of 16 and has rights to work within the United Kingdom. Unfortunately if you are under 16 and do not have work rights in the UK, you are not able to apply to the platform at this time.

What types of opportunities are listed on Limelight?

Limelight allows any member of the platform, at any membership level to list jobs and auditions. Each job will depend on the requirements of the user who places the listing. All opportunities must fall into the Limelight Talent job categories which are focused on the Entertainment Industry.

Does Limelight charge commission on bookings?

No, Limelight will never charge a member to list a job on the platform, we will also never take any commission of what is earned by the applicant. Limelight operates on a membership fee only. Talent Plus members are the only members who are required to pay a monthly subscription charge and this is the only charge we take from members.

What is the cost of joining Limelight?

Limelight offers a very simply structured Membership. The Talent Finder account is free of charge and are basic profiles on the basis of listing opportunities and managing applicants.

We offer a free standard talent membership to anyone wanting to join us, although this account has certain limits. You can create a profile, apply to all public castings, collaboration jobs and competitions, however you will not be able to apply for paid work.

Talent Plus members who join during 2021 using code LLTFREELIFETIME will be given premium free access for life. Any members who signup on Talent+ from 2022 will be charged £2.99 per month and will be able to take advantage of an enhanced profile, and be able to apply to an unlimited amount of all job types. Talent Plus members also appear first in the talent directory, and on any application lists when they apply to opportunities, giving them a higher chance of being cast.

What types of jobs are there?

All jobs depend on the Casting Agent/Recruiter although they must fit within our platform categories and be approved by the help desk before they go live.

To make things a little easier for our talent members we have colour coded our jobs so you can see at a glance the type of job you’re applying to.

  • BLACK – These are competitions, review the notes carefully as entrance fees may apply
  • RED – Paid jobs and auditions
  • ORANGE – These are collaboration jobs
  • GREY – These are public castings and auditions available on other websites

(Members will be redirected to the 3rd party website on application of 3rd party listings)

What does collaboration mean?

Collaboration is the term for working on a project that is not paid through monetary value but there is some kind of mutual benefit to both the advertiser and the applicant. Therefore a university graduate in photography may list a collab job for a model, in return for the models time, the photographer offers their time and offers the retouched images to the model at no cost.

Our Help Desk monitors all jobs to make sure that they are complying with the laws for national minimum wage. If we believe that a company should be paying the applicant, this will be discussed with the user listing the job before it goes live.

Does Limelight Guarantee jobs and auditions?

No, the Limelight platform is based on employers, bookers and casting directors listing opportunities. Limelight will also publish jobs that become available to us or on behalf of such people but offer no guarantee to the amount of available opportunities.

Can I use Limelight Talent alongside other casting websites?

Absolutely. Limelight does not believe in limiting our member’s opportunities, no matter where they are found. Limelight does not hold any contractual obligation in regards to sole representation. As far as we are concerned, you have full rights to find work on any platform that you choose.

Some agencies and platforms may have you held under sole representation so it’s a good idea to check this out before applying for work on other platforms.

Is there a contract period for Talent Plus members?

Limelight operate on a rolling monthly subscription, meaning that you only need to pay for one month’s membership at a time. We do not offer refunds to members as it is entirely down to the platform user to change their membership level which is found in the account dashboard.

You can easily downgrade your membership within the “My Membership” section of the Limelight Dashboard. Cancellations must be done at least 48 hours before the next monthly payment is due.

If you have any questions that have been left unanswered, our Help Desk are on hand to guide you and give you the best possible advice. You can contact us by emailing helpdesk@limelighttalent.co.uk or by contacting us direct through our social media pages.
